Anderson Anderson has designed
and built numerous projects seeking to maximize quality of life and quality
of construction with very low budgets in the affordable housing range. While
much of our experience has been in highly custom, relatively expensive projects,
in many of our multi-unit and lower budget projects we have sought to achieve
efficiencies in design, construction and manufacturing that afford a degree
of site-adaptability, individualization, and sense of material solidity often
lacking in affordable projects. We have won a number of design awards for these
projects, and they have been widely published. Our clients for these projects
have been government agencies in Japan, private developers, and manufacturers.
Often we have created collaborations among these groups to maximize the potential
of individual projects, extending the design process into a explorative relationship
with manufacturers in order to spread system development costs over multiple
projects or potential mass production.
We are very interested
in working with building product manufacturers to develop, adapt, or explore
new systems. We are also interested in working with private developers interested
in building low cost, or high-efficiency multi-unit developments, or with
government agencies, community groups or non-profit institutions interested
in building affordable housing. For individual clients, some of these projects
are applicable for single family homes that are affordable, yet creatively
designed and adaptable to a range of site conditions.
