This is a home designed as one of a related series of semi-custom, site adapted houses for Amerikaya Construction Company, using repetitively prefabricated construction components. The site is a terraced hillside overlooking the city of Tsuruga, surrounding mountains and the Sea of Japan. This courtyard house focuses on the integration of interior and exterior spaces to make optimal use of the entire site. Spaces and windows are arranged to provide maximum benefit from sunlight and shade as well as to open the house to the best views while providing spaces for privacy, separation and seclusion.
