This new home winds between the trees on its narrow waterfront site, establishing its spatial organization through a respect for the existing topography, vegetation, and remnants of the original 1912 homestead on this site. Comprised of three simple volumes which have been inflected by the competing forces of view site lines, privacy requirements, shoreline setbacks, tree locations and sun angles, the interior and exterior spaces twist and distort to accomodate competing opportunities and limitations while at the same time maintaining the material order of the site and the rationality of a clearly expressed structural system.
